SignalQuest is located in the heart of the Upper Connecticut River Valley, a unique community where great education, research, and industry thrive in the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont.  Located at the intersection of Interstate 89 and 91, the "Upper Valley" region stretches along each side of the Connecticut River and is approximately two hours from Boston, three hours from Montreal, and four hours from New York City.

Education

The Upper Valley prides itself on its dedication to educational excellence.  Hanover, NH is home to Dartmouth College, whose graduate schools include the Thayer Engineering School, the Tuck School of Business, and Dartmouth Medical School.  Founded in 1769, Dartmouth is the ninth oldest college in the nation and a member of the Ivy League.  Nearby Vermont Law School, Colby-Sawyer College, Lebanon College, and the University of New Hampshire's College of Lifelong Learning are among the other top-rated local institutions.  Area elementary and high schools, as well as Kimball Union Academy and Cardigan Mountain School, have been nationally cited for excellence.

Industry

Lebanon, NH is recognized as the high tech center of the state with robust retail, commercial and light manufacturing industry, which is supported by a commercial airport, two Interstate highways, bus, and rail service.  The world-class teaching hospital, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and the Dartmouth Medical and Engineering Schools have become a fountainhead for cutting edge biotech research and new technology companies.  The area is also home to the U.S. Army Core of Engineers' Cold Regions Research Lab (CRREL), Timkin Aerospace, and many R&D, software, and manufacturing companies.

Cultural Activities

There is a wealth of cultural opportunities in the area, which attracts a diversity of international music, theater, dance, and art. Activities for adults and children contribute to an active local community, with museums, sculpture gardens, theater groups, concerts, and educational lectures. Quaint and distinctive New England villages pepper the region and offer a diversity of restaurants, shops, festivals, and fairs.

Recreation

The area's topography ranges from the rolling agricultural land along the Connecticut River to the foothills of New Hampshire's White Mountains and Vermont's Green Mountains, which offer endless terrain for climbing, biking,  boating, skating, and fishing.  People come from near and far to hike the Appalachian Trail, play golf at numerous courses, and visit the lake and mountain of Sunapee.  Skiers of every ability will find nearby mountains everywhere, from Killington, Stowe, and Ascutney in Vermont to Loon, Waterville Valley, and Cannon in New Hampshire.
